Gameplay Changes
General
Economy Management
- Each Trainer has a dedicated amount of money they give you upon defeat.
- Some sell-only items can be found, either as part of routes or as rewards after defeating Optional Trainers.
- Most battle items are now single purchase.
- Additional methods of earning money have been disabled.
Battle
Dynamic Speed
- Full Dynamic Speed has been implemented.
- Mid-turn Speed changes will take effect immediately, which commonly includes Mega Evolutions altering Speed, and effects like Tailwind in Double Battles.
Stat Rank Stages
Stat Stages now scale at a lower rate than before, with a base of value of (3 / 3) instead of (2 / 2). The new stat rank chart is now:

Status
- Pokemon are cured of Status effects when they enter battle.
- Yes, this explicitly nerfs Guts and Channel.
Burn
- End of Turn Damage: 1/8 (12.5%) → 1/12 (8.33%)
Confusion
- Always lasts 2-3 turns.
- Self Hit Chance: 50 → 33%
Fatigue
- Replaces Frozen.
- Reduces the damage dealt by Special moves by 50%.
- Increases the PP consumption of moves by 1.
- Psychic-types are immune to being Fatigued.
Frozen
- Removed
Paralysis
- Speed Multiplier: 25 → 50%
Sleep
- Always lasts 2 turns.
Terrains
Electric Terrain
- Raises the power of Electric-type moves by 50 → 20%.
Grassy Terrain
- No longer reduces the power of Bulldoze, Earthquake, and Magnitude.
- Raises the power of Grass-type moves by 50 → 20%.
Misty Terrain
- No longer reduces the power of Dragon-type moves.
- Raises the power of Fairy-type moves by 20%.
Psychic Terrain
- Raises the power of Psychic-type moves by 50 → 20%.
Twilight Terrain
- Raises the power of Dark-type moves by 20%.
- Prevents stat changes while in effect.
Weather
Sun
- Increases the damage of Fire-type moves by 50 → 20%.
Rain
- Increases the damage of Water-type moves by 50 → 20%.
Hail
- Raises the Defense of Ice-type Pokemon by 50%.
Encounters
- Catching Pokemon is guaranteed in Vaniville Town, Route 1, Route 2, Santalune Forest, Route 3, and Route 22.
- All Fishing is done with the Fishing Rod key item, and Fishing encounter tables have been squished to just one table.
- Pokemon have a 20% chance of having their Hidden Ability, if they have one.
Surf
- Removed
Rock Smash

Trash Cans
- Trash Cans will always shake, and are guaranteed to have a Pokemon encounter.
- Tuesday/Thursday Trash Can Encounters have been removed.
- You can no longer find items in Trash Cans.
Invisible Grass
Sorry about this, overworld graphics are difficult.
- There are invisible grass encounters in Vaniville Town and Berry Fields.
- The Vaniville Town grass is at the south square of the town.
- The Berry Fields grass is a single vertical strip on the left side of the Fields.
UI
Pokemon Information Panel
- Displays Hidden Power type.
- Displays IVs.
- Toggle between Stats and IVs with the L & R triggers.
- If the Pokemon has a non-neutral Nature, the positive change is now colored Green and the negative Red.
Settings Menu
- There are now settings for Level Caps and Shiny Rate, with a wide variety of options for player choice.
- Battle Style defaults to Set Mode.
- Text Speed defaults to Fast.
Misc Changes
Pokemon
- Basculin has had its regular and shiny textures repainted to White to match its form.
- Magby, Magmar, and Magmortar have been given new regular and shiny textures to match their unique type combination.
- Ninetales has had its regular and shiny textures swapped.
- If anyone ever asks why their "shiny" Ninetales doesn't have a sparkle animation, just send them a screenshot of this change.
- Rotom-Fan now has Hurricane instead of Air Slash as its signature move.
- Shaymin now remains in Sky Forme regardless of circumstance.
- Gracidea can be used to toggle between Land and Sky formes.
Other
- Natural Objects have been removed.
- Waterfall can be used in the open world after obtaining the 6th Gym Badge from Valerie.
